We’re happy to kick off this new series with Adam Fisher, our Vice President of Corporate Finance.

Adam joined us as Director of Corporate Finance two years ago and was recently promoted to Vice President, joining the senior leadership team.

What is your favourite part about working at MarshallZehr?

I enjoy learning, being challenged, and working with bright people. Real estate finance can be especially complex – no 2 deals are the same! Working as a team to provide solutions in one of Canada’s largest industries is what I enjoy most about working at MZ.

What does your day look like in your current role?

No two days are ever the same for me, and that is a good thing! My time gets split between advancing strategic initiatives and managing the ongoing financial operations of the business. I work with a fantastic team which makes all this possible.

Why did you choose to work at MarshallZehr?

I am a CPA, CA by trade, and my professional background has always been lending and financial services. When the opportunity came to work with MarshallZehr, I jumped at the chance to blend my personal interest in real estate with my professional background.

Furthermore, real estate is a tangible industry – you get to see and touch the developments you are working on, and to me, that is rewarding – to see the output of your work. That’s not always possible in more traditional financial services environments.

What advice would you give to someone interested in coming to work at MarshallZehr?

Buckle up and get ready to learn. This is an exciting and complex industry that is highly rewarding. If that interests you, MZ could be the right place for you!

How would you describe the culture at MarshallZehr?

Inclusive and diverse! MarshallZehr has something for everyone, and I always feel like a valued and respected team member. While we have an amazing office, the company does a wonderful job hosting regular events outside of the office (BBQs, sports events, socials, etc.), which is a great way to get to know your colleagues on a more personal level.
